Preparing
for loading

The goods, vehicle and loading site must be coordinated with one another. The collection details should therefore be clarified in advance.

Before loading

An exact address alone is not enough. We need to know when the goods will be ready, what loading facilities are available and what requirements apply to the packaging and vehicle. Early coordination with the sender helps avoid surprises on site.

Timing and loading facilities

Confirm opening hours, the booked time window and how to reach the contact person on site. Tell us what loading facilities are available at the collection point, such as a loading bay or forklift, and whether a vehicle with a tail lift or other loading equipment is required. Where access is restricted, vehicle dimensions and any entry restrictions are also important.

Cargo and packaging

Alongside the number of packages, we need actual dimensions and weight, any overhang, stackability and information about sensitivity. Packaging and marking must meet the requirements of the goods. For unusually shaped, high-value or dangerous goods, we clarify the special requirements before organising transport.

Temperature requirements must be clear

The required temperature range must be specified by the product specification or the customer. We do not determine it ourselves. Also clarify the temperature of the goods at loading, the required vehicle preparation, transshipment conditions and desired temperature documentation. A refrigerated vehicle does not replace the necessary pre-cooling of the goods.

What should you do if there is a discrepancy?

If the goods are not ready, the packaging differs from the information provided or the temperature is incorrect, this must be reported before departure. It must be agreed with the customer whether and under what conditions the transport may proceed. An early call often helps more than an explanation afterwards.
