Flower groupage from Aalsmeer to Hungary – several collection points, one coordinated delivery

At the flower market in Aalsmeer, goods are collected from various wholesalers. The individual CC containers are collected and consolidated into a single shipment.

The challenge lies in coordinating the different collection points and meeting tight time windows. The flowers must arrive at the wholesaler in Szigetszentmiklós the following day. Smaller flower retailers from various regions of Hungary then collect their pre-ordered goods there, often for time-critical orders such as weddings or other events. If the shipment arrives late, these retailers may have to source what they need elsewhere. If the flowers originally ordered arrive later than expected, there is a risk that they can only be sold at a discount, or cannot be sold at all.

Our solution: We coordinate collections and consolidation in Aalsmeer, followed by transport to Hungary. During peak season, an additional person on site supports loading coordination when needed. This enables structured, timely groupage transport even with several collection points.

International transport between Hungary and the Netherlands – efficiently connecting both directions

For time-critical flower imports from Aalsmeer to Hungary, we use a two-driver crew. To make the best use of this crew, the return journey from Hungary is combined with an export shipment to the Netherlands. This shipment consists of goods other than flowers.

In Hungary, an additional driver handles pre-carriage and loading of the export goods and hands the loaded truck over to the two-driver crew. They transport the goods to a destination such as Venlo. After unloading, the truck must reach Aalsmeer in time to collect flowers from the various wholesalers and load them for the return journey to Hungary.

After flower loading is complete, both drivers take their required rest period in Aalsmeer. Only then does the onward journey with the flowers to Szigetszentmiklós in Hungary begin.

Delays unloading the export goods in the Netherlands or traffic disruptions can put the tight schedule at risk. When time pressure is particularly high, an additional driver can therefore be sent ahead to an agreed meeting point along the return route, allowing the journey to continue in compliance with statutory driving and rest times.

Your benefit: By intelligently connecting both directions, we use available transport capacity efficiently and establish a reliable process. At the same time, we ensure that the time-critical flowers are collected as planned and reach the consignee in Hungary on time.
